Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Vice President, Account Development will use an understanding of client needs to prepare budgets and proposals that attract and retain key Financial Services accounts and develop new business from prospective accounts.  Communicates regularly with current and potential clients to develop relationships, explore new business opportunities, and oversee the projects he/she sold. Maintains an active network of business leads.   Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identify clients’ requirements and expectations.
  • Prepare budgets and proposals to be submitted to existing and/or potential clients.
  • Participate in sales calls to prospective clients.
  • Meet with clients in-person or by phone.
  • Develop an understanding of the research needs of existing clients.
  • Propose new research ideas and/or directions to existing clients.
  • Communicate study progress and issues to client.
  • Furnish information on capabilities and experience to prospective clients.
  • Identify opportunities for new business with existing clients and prospective clients.
  • Provide input into project pricing.
  • Balance needs of client with what is best for the company.

Experience & Skill Responsibilities:

  • 8 to 10 years related work experience in Financial Services research with a minimum of 6 years experience on the supplier side.
  • Requires excellent presentation skills.
  • Anticipates and responds to customer/client needs by seeking and acting on their feedback.
  • Ability to speak to others in one-on-one or small group settings.  Speaks clearly and in a manner that is easily understood by others. 
  • Ability to grasp key pieces of spoken information. Pulls out key information when talking with one person or in a group.
  • Works to achieve a goal or objective.  Shows a strong drive to follow through and complete what was started.
  • Takes the lead in performing tasks or promoting new ideas or work methods. Shows a sense of urgency for completing critical work.
  • Works well in difficult settings or under stress.  Is able to work under tight time frames, heavy work loads or conflicting demands.
  • Clearly demonstrates an understanding of ethical boundaries and an avoidance of potentially compromising business situations. 
  • Ability to manage time and set work priorities. Uses this to make sure work is finished on time.
  • Communicates in writing both non-technical and technical information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. 
  • Ability to read and use tables, graphs, and diagrams to sum up information. Is able to choose the best way to display the data.
  • Takes responsibility for the completion of job tasks. 

Education:

BA/BS in Marketing or equivalent, MS desirable.
