Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance Director will have overall responsibility for financial management supporting business units (SBU's) which include analysis and reporting of business, accuracy and integrity of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, reviewing and integration of acquisitions, and maximization of profitability.  The Director is a key liaison between the Senior Management Team, the Strategic Business Units, the Accounting Function in Harrison, NY, and the Human Resources Department. Major responsibility includes:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining financial reporting systems, financial and operation management controls and strategic and tactical financial plans. 
  • Providing customized financial analyses to assist the business teams (SBU’s) in the decision making process. This includes offering strategic advice regarding pricing, costing and hiring decisions.
  • Assisting in the oversight of the closing process in terms of revenue recognition, cost accruals and various other p&l functionalities.
  • Full responsibility for the annual budget process and subsequent reforecast processes.  Work together with the Financial Analyst to develop and support those numbers throughout the year.       

Experience & Skill Responsibilities:

The candidate must have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Full understanding of P&L accounts. 
  • Proven ability to analyze a business, recommend improvements and improve profitability.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word required. 

Education:

B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.  MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred.   7+ years increasing responsibility in a financial role.  Business valuation and acquisition experience is a plus.
