Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
On a day-to-day basis, manage assigned research projects following specifications and established standards to meet needs of the respective study. Specific study work includes:
- Assists with and builds knowledge of marketing research projects (i.e. brand health tracking, communications effectiveness tracking, positioning research, brand extendibility research) by analyzing and interpreting marketing research data.
- Has primary responsibility for writing analysis programs using SAS and an in-house proprietary cross tabulation program. Populates reports with SAS output and cross tabulation software output and ensures accuracy of data.
- Obtains bids for fieldwork, collects accurate information and coordinates the estimate for final review by supervisor.
- Ensures data is collected and delivered accurately by effectively managing the data collection process on assigned studies.
- Independently constructs and implements analytical plans for simple studies and with supervisor's guidance for complex studies.
- Able to understand and solve day-to-day data/client issues with minimal supervision.
Experience & Skill Responsibilities:
2 - 5 years related work experience in market research or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Data Analysis: Demonstrated experience writing code with SAS or SPSS in the following areas: reading in raw data, merging data sets, coding/recoding variables, computing variables, univariate statistics (correlations, t-tests)
Research Skills: Must have strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of research design and methodology. Some knowledge of multivariate statistics is preferred.
Project Management: Must be a critical thinker with strong organizational skills and an ability to manage all aspects of project work. Strong ability to multi-task as person will be involved with multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication: Must have ability to communicate clearly and cultivate relationships with clients and other team members.
People interaction: Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as person will be working directly with 3-5 senior team members.
Other Software Proficiency: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Education:
BA/BS in Social Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent; MA/MS in related field is desirable.
