Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Research Director is a senior market research professional responsible for the performance, management, and development of an integrated client centered research team. He/she is responsible for delivering exceptional thinking and quality service on every study in order to create a significant impact on the client's business. To ensure these outcomes, the Senior Research Director is integral to the report writing process. The Senior Research Director is both an excellent leader and researcher. 

  • Demonstrates broad market research expertise and experience as he or she designs and prices complex market research projects.
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships, inspiring confidence in our clients that GfK provides premium fact based consultation.
  • Builds a strong cohesive integrated research team.
  • Demonstrates excellent strategic skills in writing or reviewing client research reports, including final summaries and conclusions on reports for the team.
  • Staff Management, which includes: Development of individuals through mentoring, coaching, and training.
  • Works well across matrix organization to ensure best GfK talent is brought to each engagement.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal subject matter experts to provide the best outcomes possible.

Experience & Skill Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Research Director must be able to work effectively with clients.
  • Direct Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty research management experience preferred.
  • Must be able to delegate effectively to maximize the productivity of each employee preferred.
  • Must be able to work directly with experienced researchers as clients.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills daily: professional demeanor, high level of integrity, portray a positive point of view and manage positive working relationships across all areas of the company.
  • Must work in partnership with Account Directors to win new accounts or grow existing clients.
  • Must be flexible in work style and be willing to adapt to change.
  • Must possess the ability and experience to manage, coach, and develop a group of people with varying jobs and skill levels.
  • Participates in the annual budgeting process and manages team and project budgets effectively throughout the year.

Education:

BA/BS in Marketing or equivalent, MS desirable. Minimum 7-10 years market research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
