Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing effective and efficient task execution in the area of data processing. Responsibility for the clean data file and the generation of the tables or final deliverable to the researcher is their prime responsibility. This includes ensuring that jobs assigned are executed within study time lines and budget parameters, as well as company quality standards.
Can perform duties on all assigned studies with no supervision and guidance from other project team members or management. Understands study requirements and can execute against those plans and requirements. Gathers input from others in Operations to generate recommendations for self and for others when study is deviating from set schedules and/or budgets.
Work on assigned studies following specifications and established standards to meet the data requirements and reporting needs of the respective study. Specific study work includes the following:
Perform data processing functions to provide internal clients study data in the desired format. This includes gathering the necessary data, cleaning and formatting the data, weighting the data as specified, provide appropriate statistical testing, presenting the data in the format as requested (tables with appropriate banners, datasets, databases, loading to portals, etc.).
Provide off shore coordination and support for assigned projects.
Troubleshoot problems with other operations departments, including online, CATI, field and coding. Make recommendations to project team on how best to best handle survey and/or data issues.
Provide project management support to all assigned studies to ensure deliverables meet study objectives. This involves overseeing and coordinating all activities and timelines from the time a questionnaire is delivered for programming until data is processed.
Provide technical support to more junior members of staff.
Provide technical and operational expertise/consultancy to business vertical sectors on questionnaire programming, weighting, and/or data processing issues and processes. This encompasses liaising with business sectors and practice areas with regard to project work (including project meetings and training/presentation activity)
Perform necessary administration tasks including maintaining record of hours, percent of job completion, study folder setup, and respondent services measurements to ensure assigned studies are completed within budget. Also, attend all schedules staff meetings as appropriate
Generate process improvement ideas. Provide input to existing SLA’s as required to improve the process and/or handle new products and clients
Provide support for the Senior Technical Director during their absence
Experience & Skill Responsibilities:
5+ year of working experience in the marketing research industry in a technical function with a highly successful track record
Well developed and demonstrated record of successful technical services skills, within MR environment
Demonstrated understanding of market research data layouts
Advanced knowledge of Quantum / Mentor software used for data processing.
Advanced working knowledge of databases and associated tools.
Advanced knowledge of the Market Research industry.
Advanced working knowledge of the entire operations process and tools currently in use. Understanding how the components of the system work together and particular expertise in how to manipulate the data collected
Ability to take project specifications and requirements and execute tasks to meet them
Effective communication skills
Solid organization and time management skills
Solid decision making skills
Ability to work under pressure and ensure specified deadlines are met
Responsibility for self-development with particular emphasis on data management, data formatting and table generation techniques
Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook and Word
Education:
BA/BS degree
