GfK Automotive is the automotive research and consulting division of GfK Custom Research North America.   GfK Automotive has been the preeminent provider of product, brand and consumer research and consulting to the global automotive industry for the past 20 years.  The Southfield, Michigan office of GfK Automotive is seeking a positive, team-oriented Research Assistant to assist in the management and execution of automotive product clinic, qualitative and quantitative research projects.  The position will require flexibility to travel for project related work in support of client projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess the following qualifications:

  • Assist in preparation of research proposals including proposal writing, cost estimation/price development, and logistics management
  • Project coordination – venue selection, supplier sourcing, interviewing training and project related travel
  • On site project support - research setup, interviewer training, and project management
  • Supplier management - manage fieldwork suppliers with respect to quality, cost, and timing
  • Data analysis planning/execution - prepare data tabulation plans and check data tabs for accuracy
  • Report preparation - conduct data analysis, prepare charts, write reports

Experience & Skill Responsibilities:

  • Ability to travel/support a flexible work schedule as needed to support project requirements is required
  • Ability to manage simultaneous requests (good organizational skills, multi-tasking ability)
  • Ability to manage and conduct a broad range of research projects
  • Ability to solicit and coordinate pricing and logistics with outside vendors for research projects
  • Ability to read and interpret research data tabulations
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical skills and client service focus
  • Ability to take direction from multiple Research Managers
  • Knowledge of automotive marketplace (makes/models, upcoming launches, key trends, etc.)
  • Ability to create charts/presentations using Excel and PowerPoint - proficiency in preparation of high quality, professional-looking PowerPoint presentations incorporating visually appealing, high quality graphics and charts efficiently is a plus

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (BSEE, BSCS, BSCE) from a four-year college or university; 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
